Emergency Information
In case of disaster or wide-scale emergency tune in to 93.3 FM or 102.5 FM for information, instructions, and updates.
The Big Bear Valley's leaders have disaster preparedness plans in place, which will be communicated to the public via KBHR, even in the event of power outage or cell tower failure.

Emergency Supplies

Most of the emergency items listed above can be found at any sporting goods or military supply store, or online. Bulk food supplies can be purchased almost anywhere and can be stored safely in buckets with gamma lids that screw on to keep food clean and pest-free. Sealed cans of freeze dried food can have a shelf life of up to 25 years, so the investment will last a long time and keep you ready for any crisis!

In addition to buying bulk or freeze dried at food warehouses or online sites like Costco, Sam's Club, Food4Less, WinCo, etc., there's also local-based Honeyville Farms in Rancho Cucamonga that sells bulk items, freeze dried foods, and emergency supplies. The Honeyville retail location in Rancho has ceased operating, but the online option is available. Another source for emergency food is ThriveLife.com, which offers member discounts and income potential as a distributor.
